Line of thunderstorms broke apart again just as they moved into the area late this afternoon. Some ominous skies and gusty winds out ahead of the storms around 5pm to 34 mph then some light rain showers 5:30-7:30pm with only .10". Temp dropped into the 60's. 2nd: Chilly low of 53 F this morning. Sunny and cool today high only 74 F 100% sunshine breezy N winds to 21 mph. 3rd: Another chilly morning with a low of 49 F. Another sunny great day high 79 but a bit windy at times with SE winds gusting up to 27 mph. 4th: Showers this morning 5-7am .12" fell. Partly cloudy hazy and humid today more showers this evening 7:30pm -8pm Total today .21" 5th: Same old story. Approaching line of storms fall apart just as they move in 5:30pm-7:30pm Only some distant thunder and light rain .11", wind gust to 26 mph. Storms redeveloped east of the mountains and became very severe toward Baltimore. 6th: Chilly low of 50 F this morning, Beautiful day with 100% sunshine. *RECORD LOW TIED 7th: *RECORD LOW TIED-Cool morning low again of 50 F. Tied the record for this date in set in 1983. Another nice day but humidity was just a bit more noticeable. 8th: A few sprinkles just after midnight. Showers and thunderstorms in the area 3:30am - 7am but no direct hit from storms only .12" of rain fell. Hazy very warm and became very humid and oppresive late this afternoon temperature shot up to 87 F with dew points peaking in the mid 70's. A quick shower this evening 9pm with another .02". HOT 9th: Sunny and hot high of 90 F not as humid heat index same as temperature. 10th: Hazy hot and humid today high 90 F Heat index 96. Some thunder to south around 5:30pm. Severe storms passed NE of here 4-5pm in Franklin Co.PA & Frederick Co.MD with damage reported. Tornado warnings were issued in those areas. COOLER / LESS HUMID 11th: Light showers this morning 2:30-3:00am .03". Became sunny breezy cooler and less humid today. NW winds to 26 mph. 12th: Another fine low humidity day for July. *RECORD LOW TIED AGAIN ! 13th: *RECORD LOW TIED- Low of 52 F tied the record for this date set in 1904. Another great weather day for July with sunny skies, low humidity and a fine breeze from the north. 14th: Another fine day just a bit warmer. 15th: Sunny and a bit warmer but humidity still in check. 16th: Partly cloudy, warm with humidity a little more noticable today. 17th: Hotter high 91 F. Dew points creeping upwards 18th: A few light showers today 8-9am and 5-6pm only .04" Cloudy, hazy and humid today. Dew points in the mid 70's with heat index of 100 peaked at 104. 25th: Warm overnight low of 73 F. Hot hazy and very oppressive with a high of 94 F dew point peaked at 76 with a heat index averaging just over 100 and peaking at 105. Some thunder to the W & SW around 6pm also a few sprinkels of rain as storms dissipated. SOME RAIN / COOLER 26th: Mostly cloudy warm and humid this morning. Showers this afternoon 1pm-4pm with .19" Temperature fell into the 60's during the showers. 27th: Partly cloudy day less humid. 29th: A few light showers this morning 5am-8am .05". More light rain and drizzle today 11am- 6pm. Total today .15" 30th: Cloudy and cool again today with some light showers 10:30am-11:30am .05" fell. A few peeks of sun late this afternoon. This July was the 3rd Driest on record with only 1.02" of rain. The record driest was in 1968 with only .20". the 2nd driest is 1930 with .69". Normal is 3.33" This July was also the 5th coolest on record with an average temperature of 71.9 F. The record coolest was in 1920 with an average of 70.5. Normal is 74.9. Last July 2000 was also cool it was the 7th coolest on record and no 90 degree days occured that month for the first time ever.
