Shower around 7:30pm with some thunder only .04" fell. Heavier storms went to west and north. 2nd: Warm and humid some very light showers around 9:30am and a few this afternoon, trace. Thunderstorm went to south around 5pm only .01" fell here. HOT HOT HOT !!! 3rd: Hazy, very hot, very humid day. High of 96 F. Heat index peaked at 109 at 4:40pm this afternoon. 4th: Very hot and humid again with a high of 98 F. close to the record of 100 in 1966. The heat index peaked at 110 at 2:55pm. 5th: Very Hot again today. High of 99 F. was close to the record of 100 in 1949. The Heat Index was up to 111 late this afternoon. 6th: HOT ! RECORD TIED ! High of 100 F. tied the record in 1977. Heat index peaked at 110 this afternoon. 7th: Hot high of 94 F. but much less humid in the upper 20% range this afternoon, dew points in the low 50's. Heat index peaked at 95. 8th: Cool Man! Low of 60 F. this morning. Still hit 91 F. this afternoon but humidity was low again. 9th: A cool start with another low of 60 F. but quickly became very hot as a warm front came through and the temperature hit 99 F. this afternoon. Humidity was still low. COOLER / A BIT OF RAIN 10th: A few light showers this morning between 7am and noon only .05" fell. 11th: Very cool low of 52 F. this morning. 12th: Some light showers late this afternoon 3:30pm - 6pm .04" MORE HEAT / EXTREMELY DRY 15th: Hot again high of 92 F. 16th: Very Hot and Hazy High of 98 F. Heat index peak at 102. 17th: Another Very Hot day with a high of 99 F. which was close to the record of 100 in 1953. Humidity levels were still in check. Heat index peaked at 103. 18th: Another Very Hot and Very Hazy day. High of 99 F. again was close to the record of 100 in 1997. Heat index peaked at 103 again this afternoon. Some thunderstorms and showers tried to form around the area but failed to produce any rain here. 19th: Hazy and Hot again today High of 96 F. Heat index 102. Some clouds today kept the temperature slighly lower. Also a little more humid. 20th: Hazy hot and humid. High of 90 F. RAIN !! / STILL HOT 21st: Not as hot but very hazy and very humid today. High of 89 F. Rain from a thunderstorm that built up this evening .25" fell between 8:30pm - 9:30pm. Some sharp lightning. 22nd: A few light showers 3:30am-4:30am .02" Fog overnight. Hot,Hazy and Very Humid today High of 94 F. Heat index peaked at 106. 23rd: Very Hot today High of 99 F. Heat index peaked at 104. 24th: Heavy thunderstorm 9:25am -9:50am produced .36" rain in about 20 minutes, wind gusts to 31 mph and sharp lightning. Hot and very humid again today hi of 93 F. Heat index was 105. 25th: Sunny, very hot but less humid today high of 97 F. Showers and thunderstorms this evening between 6:30pm - 9:30pm with some sharp lightning and brief downpours .32" of rain fell. 26th: Hot but not quite as bad high of 92 F. 27th: Another very hot one high of 96 F. Humidity not too bad. Heat index was at 100. 28th: Clouds held the temperature down to a high of 90 F. today. Severe thunderstorms pasted by just to our southwest between 4pm-5pm. Brief strong and gusty winds to 32 mph at 4pm. Only .04" of rain fell 5-5:30pm. AND THE HEAT GOES ON... 29th: Showers this morning between 6am-8am .02" then clearing and became sunny and hot with a high of 93 F. 30th: HOT RECORD HIGH of 99 F. Beat the old record of 98 in 1983. Heat Index was 105 today. 31st: Hottest Temperature yet with a high of 101 F. Not a record which was 103 in 1954. Heat index was 107 today. Thunderstorm passed to north 6pm-7pm only .01" of rain fell, wind gusts to 28 mph. MAJOR RECORDS SET !!! This is the HOTTEST July or any month on record with an average temperature of 80.0 F. This beats the old record of 79.2 in 1955. July also has had the most 90 degree days for any month with 23 days breaking the old record of 20 which happend 4 other times, the most recent in July of 1983. July was the 3rd driest ever with 1.16" of rain the second driest was .69" in 1930. The driest ever was .20" in 1968.
