Intense thunderstorm this evening 6:30pm - 7:30pm with quick heavy downpours intense sharp close lightning & loud thunder, wind gusts to 38 mph. 68" of rain during the storm. 2nd: Light shower early this morning. Mostly cloudy hazy warm and humid today. Showers and several thunderstorms late afternoon and during the evening .42" of rain fell today. Fog this evening. 3rd: Fog overnight and a few showers .06". High 82 F. TORRENTIAL TROPICAL DOWNPOURS FLASH FLOODING 25th: A few light showers overnight & this morning & early afternoon. Torrential downpours from showers and thunderstorms between 3:30-5pm with 2.5" in that period. More showers this evening. Total rain today 3.02" 26th: More heavy rains overnight with torrential downpours between 3am -5:30am with another 2.20" of rain. Many roads flooded and creeks out of thier banks. Some sun today became very warm and humid high 85 F. Few more sprinkles. Strong SE winds this afternoon to 33 mph. Some more light showers this evening, Total today 2.39" Past 2 days 5.41" 27th: More torrents of rain this afternoon from thunderstorms and tropical cloudbursts. Nearly 2 inches of rain fell 1:30- 2pm. One inch fell in 10 minutes. Flash flooding everywhere. More rain continued to fall during the afternoon & evening witha total for the day of 3.15". Past 3 days 8.56" fell. HEAVY RAINS DURING PAST SEVERAL DAYS WERE FROM A PERSISTANT TROPICAL FLOW WHICH CAUSED A TRAINING EFFECT WITH THE SHOWERS AND STORMS. THIS WAS A WIDESPREAD EFFECT IN THE MID ATLANTIC REGION. SOME PARTS OF MARYLAND RECEIVED 15+ INCHES OF RAIN IN 4 DAYS AND NEARLY 20" INCHES FOR THE MONTH. MANY RECORDS FELL ACCROSS THE AREA AND SEVERE FLOODING EVERYWHERE IN CREEKS STREAM ROADS ETC. PROBABLY THE WORST SINCE HURRICANE AGNES OR EVEN WORSE IN SOME PLACES. 28th: Light showers just after midnight .01". Became mostly sunny warm and humid today high 85 F. Nearby thunderstorms around 5:30 - 6:30 pm and again late this evening with a little more rain. 05". 29th: Showers and nearby storms just after midnight with .06" of rain. Dense fog overnight and this morning. Became sunny and pleasant high 84 F. 30th: Sunny and nice high 82 F. June 2006 was the 3rd wettest on record with 10.69" of rain. the 2nd wettest was in 1996 with 10.83". The wettest June ever was in 1928 with 11.57". JUNE 2006
